MINIMASI DEFECT BAN SEPEDA MOTOR DENGAN METODE SIX SIGMA DI PT.XYZ

PT XYZ merupakan perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak dalam bidang pembuatan ban luar dan ban dalam sepeda motor. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah berbagai macam ban yang dipasarkan baik di dalam negeri maupun di luar negeri. Jenis-jenis ban yang dihasilkan itu di antaranya adalah ban scooter,ban motor bebek, ban motor sport maupun ban-ban penggunaan khusus. Under cure adalah defect yang sering muncul pada finish product yang mengakibatkan tingginya skrap produk sehingga menggangu proses pengiriman barang jadi ke ko nsumen. Untuk eksistensi perusahaan pada pasar lokal maupun global diperlukan alat pengendalian kualitas yang dapat menjaga performance dan mutu dari produk yang dihasilkan. Alat pengendalian kualitas yang dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui performance proses dari perusahaan salah satunya adalah metode six sigma. Dengan menggunakan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) diharapkan dapat membantu untuk mengurangi defect yang terjadi. Setelah dilakukan tindakan perbaikan dengan metode six sig ma didapatkan peningkatan nilai cpk dari sebelumnya 1,31 menjadi 1,35, nilai DPMO menurun dari 7.625,8 menjadi 5.315,9 nilai DPMO tersebut menunjukan defect yang terjadi mulai berkurang sehingga nilai sigma meningkat dari sebelumnya 3,93 menjadi 4,06 dan indeks produktivitas mengalami kenaikan dari 125,61 menjadi 301,69. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa tindakan perbaikan membawa dampak positif untuk mengurangi defect yang terjadi.

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company engaged in manufacturing external tires and motorcycle inner tires. The products produced are various types of tires that are marketed domestically and abroad. The types of tires produced include scooter tires, motorcycle tires, sports motorcycle tires and special use tires. Under cure is a defect that often occurs in end products that results in high product scraps that interfere with the process of shipping finished goods to consumers. For the presence of companies in local and global markets, quality control tools are needed that can maintain the performance and quality of the products produced. A quality control tool that can be used to determine company process performance is the six sigma method. The stages using DMAIC (Determine, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) are expected to help reduce defects that occur. After the corrective action taken by the Six Sigma method, it was found that the increase in the CPC value from 1.31 to 1.35, the DPMO value decreased from 7,625.8 to 5,315.9, the DPMO value showed that the defect had decreased so that the sigma value increased from before 3 .93 to 4.06. This proves that remedial actions have a positive impact on reducing defects that occur.
